Lake Minnetonka Home Association Fight with Zebra Mussels

The Lake Minnetonka Association serves as the voice for Lake Minnetonka home owners and businesses.  The zebra mussel has been a huge concern of lake users as this evasive species has been found within 20 miles of the lake.  With boaters moving their boats between lakes in the Twin Cities, it is just a matter of time before Lake Minnetonka has a problem.

The Minnesota DNR had committed to increase inspections in 2009 to combat the problem.  Unfortunately, according to Lake Minnetonka Conservation District own documents, it increase inspections 6% in 2009, despite committing to a 40% increase previously.
